In connection with New York State’s new public service requirement for individuals trained as lawyers who are seeking admission to the New York bar, the New York Times has invited readers to respond to a letter authored by David Udell, executive director of the National Center for Access to Justice, which describes the potential of the new rule. The letter is available on line on May 29, 2012, and will appear in the newspaper on May 30, 2012. At the invitation of the Times, Udell will write a final reply to the letters, scheduled to run in the Sunday edition of the Times on June 3, 2012. The letter is available here.
